Fly Fishing Moving Water: Learn to Fly Fish the Rivers of the
Canadian Rockies
The Anchor B Ranch is located in the middle of arguably the best trout
fishing in Southwestern Alberta, the Oldman River System. The area boasts
an endless diversity and variety of fisheries, coupled with spectacular
scenery and a stunning lack of fishing pressure. Our guests fish for
cutthroat, rainbow, brown, and bull trout.
In addition to the Oldman, on which the Ranch is located and provides
us private access, we are within 20 minutes of the Crowsnest and Castle
rivers. Further to the west (a very easy 1 hour drive), in British
Columbia, the famous cutthroat fishing on the Elk River.
Join our two-day school for both beginners and experienced fly fishers.
Topics covered include tackle selection, casting, reading water, dry-fly,
nymph and streamer methods, and entomology.
Your teachers, Jim & Lynda McLennan are considered among Alberta's
most prominent fly fishers. Jim is Editor at Large for Fly Fisherman
Magazine. Together, they host various trips and schools. They have
chosen to host fly fishing schools at the Anchor B Ranch and we welcome
you to join these schools! Please visit the McLennan Fly Fishing link
