Alberta Ranch

Regardless of the vacation you booked at Anchor B we can accommodate side trips of any nature. Enjoy a day trip to Waterton Lakes National Park for hikes such as the world-famous Crypt Lake Trail, take time out for a bit of flyfishing or a trail ride, or just enjoy a nature photography walk. Your days at the ranch can be customized to suit your individual tastes.

The Anchor B Ranch is located in the rolling foothills of southwestern Alberta, directly below the front range of the rockies. This unique geographical region offers exceptional views of the mountains and sweeping hills leading into their rock faces. Enjoy these panoramic vistas by horseback and hiking with our experienced Anchor B Ranch staff. This is ranching country and we offer horse back riding around the ranch and local country side as well as excursions to the mountains. Guided hiking is also available for excursions to the Crowsnest Pass area. There are several day hikes to the mountains that offer exceptional views.

We have well-trained saddle horses to match guests at every level of riding experience from beginner to seasoned rider. We supply top quality western saddles and tack for each guest. During orientation on your first day with us we will match you with a horse to fit your level of riding experience. A mix of trail rides and ranch work on horseback (moving, sorting and doctoring cattle, and checking fence) will be available on a daily basis. On specified weeks cattle drives, brandings and attendance at the local professional rodeo are also available. The Anchor B is close to some of the best hiking locations in the Canadian Rockies. The Crypt Lake Trail in Waterton National Park is listed as one of the top 10 hikes in North America. From easy walks to mountain tops, we have what you’re looking for. In addition to our main activities we offer bird watching, photo safaris, canoeing and kayaking adventures, rock climbing, various adventure-based learning programs including wilderness survival and skills training. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, we will custom-design to suit your individual needs. Activities may be booked from June to September to fit your itinerary.
